Cookie Policy compliance with the Privacy Guarantor’s directive
Definition of cookies
Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send to his terminal (usually to the broswer), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit of the same user. During navigation on a site, the user may also receive cookies on his terminal from different sites or web servers (o.o. of “third parties”); this happens because on the website visited there may be elements such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains that reside on servers other than the one on which the requested page is located.
Purposes and purposes of cookies
Cookies are used to perform computer authentications, session monitoring and storage of specific information about users accessing the server and are usually present in each user’s broswer in a very large number. With this in mind, some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in some cases are technically necessary. By way of example, access to restricted areas of the site and the activities that can be carried out there would be much more complex to carry out and less secure without the presence of cookies that allow you to be identified and maintained identification within the session.
Types of cookies
Technical cookies: these are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service” (art. 122, I comma, Privacy Code). They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas).
Analytical cookies: they are assimilated to technical cookies and are those used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the accesses and number of users and on how they use the site. They pursue statistical purposes only.
Functional cookies: these are those that allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria, such as the language, the products selected for purchase, in order to improve the service.
Profiling cookies: these are those intended to create profiles related to the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user in the context of surfing the web.
Third-party cookies: during the course of browsing the site, the user may also receive cookies on his terminal from different sites or web servers, which are set directly by operators of websites or servers other than the site. These cookies can be sent to the user’s browser by third-party companies directly from their websites, which can be accessed by browsing from the site. In such cases, the operator of this site is unrelated to the operation of such cookies, the sending of which is the responsibility of such third-party companies.
